For students: These terms are written so you can understand them. Your parent or guardian must verify your account and agree to these terms before you can use AI marking and the AI tutor.
1.1 Who is who. These terms are between WiseGuys Advisory Ltd (company number 17121982), registered at 71-75 Shelton Street, Covent Garden, London, WC2H 9JQ (“we”, “us”, “our”), and the parent or guardian who verifies the student’s account (“you”). Where the student is aged 18 or over, “you” means the student.
1.2 What you are agreeing to. By clicking the verification link and confirming your child’s account, you agree to these terms on your own behalf and on behalf of your child. The student is bound by the behaviour rules in Section 7.
2.1 What GCSE Genius is. GCSE Genius is a free online revision aid for GCSE students. It provides flashcards, practice questions written in the style of each exam board, AI marking, and AI tutoring.
2.2 What GCSE Genius is not. GCSE Genius does not replace teachers, schools, or exam boards. It cannot guarantee any grade. Practice questions are not official exam papers.
3.1 Student sign-up. A student creates an account by providing an email address, display name, exam year, target grade, and a parent or guardian’s email address. The parent or guardian’s email address is required during sign-up and cannot be skipped.
3.2 Parent verification. The parent or guardian will receive a verification email. The parent or guardian must click the verification link and confirm they are aware of and agree to their child’s use of GCSE Genius. Until verification is complete, the student may access flashcards and practice questions but may not use AI marking or AI tutor features.
3.3 Account responsibility. You are responsible for the activity on your child’s account. Each student should have only one account.
3.4 Account security. Login details must not be shared with anyone. If you believe an account has been accessed without permission, contact us immediately at help@wiseguys-advisory.com.
4.1 Designed for ages 14 to 16. GCSE Genius is designed for students aged 14 to 16.
4.2 Minimum age. Students under 13 must not use GCSE Genius. During sign-up, students confirm their date of birth. If we discover that an account belongs to a user under 13, we will delete the account and all associated data.
5.1 AI, not teachers. Marking and tutoring are performed by artificial intelligence. AI tutor characters are not real people and are not qualified teachers.
5.2 AI can be wrong. AI marking and tutoring can produce incorrect, incomplete, or misleading results. Students should not treat AI output as the final word on any topic. Mark schemes are displayed alongside every AI mark so students can check. Every AI mark includes a “This marking looks wrong” button that sends it to our team for human review.
5.3 Not a substitute for teaching. GCSE Genius is a revision aid. It does not replace classroom teaching, exam board guidance, or a qualified teacher’s professional assessment.
Each student has a daily allowance of AI tutor messages and AI markings to keep the service running fairly for all users. Flashcards and practice questions are not limited. We may adjust the daily allowance from time to time and will notify users of any material reduction.
Students must not:
1. misuse the service or attempt to disrupt its operation;
2. share their login details with anyone;
3. use the AI tutor or AI marking to produce work to be submitted as assessed coursework, controlled assessment, or examination answers;
4. submit content that is abusive, sexual, violent, discriminatory, or harmful;
5. attempt to manipulate the AI tutor to produce content that is harmful, offensive, or unrelated to GCSE revision; or
6. use the service in any way that would cause harm to another user.
We may suspend or remove accounts that breach these rules. Where possible, we will contact the verified parent or guardian before taking action.
8.1 Student content. Students keep ownership of the notes, answers, and other content they create within GCSE Genius.
8.2 Licence to us. By using the service, the student grants us a limited, non-exclusive licence to use their content solely to provide the service (for example, sending an answer to our AI provider for marking). We do not use student content for any other purpose.
8.3 AI-generated content. Marks, feedback, and tutor responses generated by the AI are provided as part of the service. Students and parents may use them for personal revision purposes. They may not be redistributed or used commercially.
8.4 Our content. All content we create (including practice questions, flashcard sets, mark schemes, tutor characters, and the design and code of the service) belongs to us or our licensors. You may not copy, redistribute, or commercially exploit any of it.
9.1 Currently free. GCSE Genius is currently provided free of charge.
9.2 Future changes. If we introduce charges in the future, we will give at least 30 days’ notice. No existing user will be charged without giving their explicit agreement to the new pricing. If
you do not agree, you may continue to use any free features that remain available, or delete the account.
10.1 Reasonable care and skill. We provide the service with reasonable care and skill, as required by section 49 of the Consumer Rights Act 2015.
10.2 What we do not exclude. Nothing in these terms limits or excludes: (i) our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence; (ii) our liability for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation; or (iii) any other liability that cannot be excluded or limited under English law, including your statutory rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015.
10.3 Exam results and AI output. Subject to section 10.2, we are not liable for: (i) exam results or academic outcomes; or (ii) loss arising from reliance on AI-generated marking, feedback, or tutoring without checking it against the mark scheme or consulting a qualified teacher. AI output is a revision aid, not professional advice, and students should treat it critically.
10.4 Indirect loss. Subject to section 10.2, we are not liable for any indirect or consequential loss.
10.5 Service availability. We aim to keep GCSE Genius available but do not guarantee uninterrupted access. We are not liable for temporary unavailability caused by maintenance, updates, or events outside our reasonable control.
11.1 By you. You or the student may delete the account at any time from Account, then My subjects, tutor and settings, then Delete account. Deletion takes effect immediately and removes all data as described in our Privacy Policy.
11.2 By us. We may suspend or terminate an account if: (i) the student breaches Section 7; (ii) we are required to do so by law; or (iii) we need to do so for safety or operational reasons. Where reasonably possible, we will give the verified parent or guardian notice before taking action and explain the reason.
11.3 Effect of termination. On termination, the student loses access to the account and all associated data is deleted in accordance with our Privacy Policy.
We may update these terms from time to time. If we make changes that materially affect your rights or how the service works, we will give you at least 30 days’ notice by email or through a notice within the service. If you do not agree to the updated terms, you may delete the account before the changes take effect. Continuing to use the service after the changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
We collect and use personal data as described in our Privacy Policy, available at our Privacy Policy page. The Privacy Policy explains what data we collect, why we collect it, who we share it with, how long we keep it, and how you and your child can exercise your data rights. Please read it carefully.
If you have a complaint about the service, email help@wiseguys-advisory.com. We aim to respond within five working days. If we are unable to resolve your complaint to your satisfaction, you may refer it to an appropriate alternative dispute resolution provider or to the courts.
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. The courts of England and Wales have non-exclusive jurisdiction. Nothing in these terms affects any mandatory consumer protection rights you may have under the law of the country where you live.
